How to Create Repeating Motion Paths in Articulate Storyline 2
Whenever I teach one of our Articulate Storyline Training Workshops, I’m always enjoy the “what-if” questions asked by my students. More often than not, these what-if questions give the class an opportunity to experiment with the features of Articulate Storyline in creative ways.
During one of my recent workshops, we were practicing how to add motion paths to objects, and a couple of my students asked if it was possible to create repeating motion paths in Articulate Storyline 2. To answer this (brilliant) question, I asked the class to create a simple slide to show how the Moon orbits the Earth. We added a circular motion path to make the Moon move around the Earth, and then added an extra trigger to make motion path repeat itself.

Tim – I have a couple questions after watching this video on repeat motion paths:
1) How do you go from a Storyline file to publishing on YouTube? This is something I have struggled with so in most cases if my customers want it in .mp4 format, I have to use Captivate instead (which I like MUCH less than Storyline).
2) How do you get the video to zoom into certain parts of the screen? This is so helpful and would really improve the quality of my technical training courses.
As always, thank you so much for your help!
Hi, Christina! For these videos, I’m not actually creating them in Storyline. Although the examples I’m showing are in Storyline, I’m recording my screen and editing the video with Camtasia. I then publish the video out of Camtasia to put on YouTube. Articulate Storyline does not offer an option for publishing to a video format. As for the zooming, this is something that’s being done in Camtasia. I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions!
Thank you. I hope Articulate recognizes these gaps and fills them soon. I love their products!
As usual, another great tip… Thanks Tim!
